Stanko Novakovic



About

I am a PhD student under the supervision of Ed Bugnion and Babak Falsafi. My research interests are in computer systems, with emphasis on distributed systems, operating systems, and computer architecture. My ongoing research efforts revolve around hardware and software aspects of rack-scale systems for datacenters. I focus on: (i) the architecture of one-sided network protocols (think RDMA) and hardware-software interfaces enabling ultra low-latency access to remote data within a rack, and (ii) seeking new and interesting ways to take advantage of the internal rack-scale fabric in core datacenter services, such as data serving and analytics.

I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, in 2010 and 2011, respectively. In 2013 I interned at Microsoft Research in Cambridge, UK, and in 2014 at HP Labs in Palo Alto, USA. My research is supported by Microsoft Research.
